I have been seeing Dr Spiegel for a few years. I am very pleased with my care. I had macular edema in one eye, cause unknown... potentially in association with cataract surgery. The most conservative treatment was ineffective so Dr. Spiegel used the mainstay treatment, intravitreal injection. While the first treatment improved my condition for a relatively short while, a second intravitreal injection was necessary and I have only needed check ups in the last couple of years. The pellet that Dr. Spiegel injected into my eye is like a large cylindrical time released floater that dissolves over time. I do get distracted by floaters occasionally until I eventually "erase" them, so that distraction was short-lived.Patient Submitted Review

After receiving a routine eye exam from the VA, I was referred to the Pacific Eye Clinic in San Luis Obispo, CA. After a thorough examination with Dr Spiegel, she immediately obtained authorization from the VA and performed a LASIK procedure. I was in and out in about an hour and a half. I'm a brand new patient at Pacific Eye, I just had my first appointment at the office in Paso Robles, and I have to say, it was a super thurro exam. The office was super friendly, the eye technitions were very accomodating when it came to testing my eyes, and everyone was super understanding when I had questions about certain things. Plus, Dr. Jen Spiegel is super amazing. She does a really good job when it comes to eye exams, she'll provide important tips, and if you're feeling nervous, she's super understanding. Dr Spiegel is a great Doctor. She's pleasant and really knows her stuff. She's also very good at doing the shots so you don't see or feel it. And Pacific Eye also keeps up with getting the best equipment like the machine that takes pictures of the eye structures. Those pictures allow the Doctor to track progress. My appointment was at 3:30 on Wednesday. I walked in the office and saw that the office was pretty full. I thought to myself this is going to be a long visit and warned my husband who was sitting in the car. So I checked in at the front desk. I must have waited 7 minutes before I was called into the techs room for eye exam and photos. (She didn’t introduce herself but she was kind and considers). After the exam she took me to one of the other rooms to be examined by Dr. Spiegel. 10 minutes later Dr. Spiegel walked in and greeted me. She reviewed my eye photos and progress then and gave me her expert advice how to move forward. She then immediately numbed my eye for the procedure and walked out. She came back 10 minutes later and gave me a shot in my eye. It took less than 3 minutes and then I was out of there. I made a comment to Dr. Spiegel how quickly I got through the appointment today. She said, “good”! Todays appointment went well and I am happy with their overall professionalism. And the ladies in the front office are very kind courteous.
